Learning standard: 11-12W1: Write arguments to support claims that analyze substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence.

REMINDER: IF YOU WERE ABSENT ON MONDAY, MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ON THE BLOG IN YOUR NOTEBOOK. I HAVE ZEROS IN AS A HOLD SPOT.

Coming up: Thursday and Friday, you are working on the Task 1 part of the ELA exam. This involves reading and multiple choice questions.  The responses will be graded in the homework category of 10%.

In class:

Collect a text and turn to page 118. We will begin by finishing up the play.

Once we have finished, open your chromebook and create a document. This is due at the close of class tomorrow. See specific directions below.

*Wednesday note:  if you do not finish the writing assignment, please send along by midnight.

The expectation is that the class is quiet, and you are working independently. A few people already sent in their essays.

Please work silently on whatever you choose.

ASSIGNMENT: Neil Simon's play Brighton Beach Memoirs is all about the importance of family and taking advantage of the resources you have in them.

In no fewer than 250 words, discuss two of the conflicts within the play and how they were resolved within the family.  Remember to use specific character names and rich details.

MLA heading; size 12, Times New Roman; title Brighton Beach  share 2006630 If you do not finish in class, send by midnight!

Note: careful with language conventions. Check your punctuation, spelling and grammar. (Read aloud in your head.) In order to receive full credit, you must vary your sentence structures.
